The transformation of our excellence awards into a pan African version is the result of the continuing evolution of an integrated operating environment for business and finance across the continent on both the sub-regional and regional levels. The latest illustration of this is the introduction of an African Tree Trade Area in 2018.
This evolution has encouraged the global investment community to take a regional perspective for its trade and investment dealings with the continent, where its options cover institutions and enterprises wherever they are in Africa, rather than a sovereign national perspective which is far narrower in terms of options and far more limited by market size.
Our awards, going forward will therefore be redesigned and presented to identify exemplary conduct and outstanding performance on a pan African level in conformity with the evolving regional perspective, but broken down into the various sub-regions, to allow for differences in regulatory and demographic differences in the operating environments from one sub-region to the other.
Thus our impending African Business Executive Excellence Awards will identify and publicly recognize the institutions, enterprises and individuals who represent Africa’s business class at its very best, for relationships both between themselves and their top tier counter-parts from other parts of the world; who should be regarded as role models for everyone else; and who deserve the goodwill and support of all stakeholders and the general public, both locally and internationally,
